The residential suburb of New Lynn is located towards the west of the Auckland urban area, 10 kilometres to the southwest of the Auckland city centre. The town centre is undergoing a transformation as part of the Auckland City brownfield redevelopment programme, but currently remains dominated by Lynn Mall. The Instant Finance branch in New Lynn opened in 1990 opposite the popular shopping destination. The branch is alongside the busy main road, sharing the area with popular eating outlets including KFC and McDonalds as well.
